Emsworth Cricket Club

Emsworth Cricket Club is looking to raise its profile over the coming season particularly with a view to encourage juniors, ladies and past players to join the club.

'Although the weather outside may be frightful, to cricketers, the thought of the summer ahead is delightful. Especially at this time of year!

Having made all our necessary pitch renovations, the grass has grown well and looking very healthy in readiness for plenty of action from May onwards.

In the meantime, other preparations are being made behind the scenes. The club will be starting indoor nets at the end of January for both seniors and juniors to which all newcomers will be made most welcome. We are also looking walking version, played indoors or out, whereby those who are past their prime in the running department can still enjoy the fun and friendship that playing sport provides.

Likewise, if there any former players for whom the thought of running around a cricket field is all but a far distant, fading memory. Stop and think again. Walking cricket is an actual thing. Yes, along with many other team sports, there is now a to restart our ladies section. So, if there any girls or ladies curious enough to wonder what all the fuss is about, look out for details in the spring and come along to some taster sessions.

All this can be found on our social media sites as our new media officer, Ryan Agnew, starts to put more and more details out on our various platforms.

Please get in touch through our social media sites or our play-cricket website.'
