In December Stakes WI had a pre- Christmas evening of fun and laughter. We were very pleased to welcome the Mayor of Havant , Councillor Leah Turner and her consort to an evening of music and an excellent supper. We are now looking forward to the coming year and a new program of events.
There are monthly meetings on the third Thursday of the month at 7.30 pm. We meet at Deverell Hall Purbrook PO7 5JU. The monthly meetings often include a visiting speaker. The topics for the next two months are 'Meet a Military Man of 1815, his Lady and a WI descendant' in February and 'The Mystery of Morris Dancing' in March.
The committee have plans in hand for theatre trips and visits to places of interest. Each month the craft group meet to have fun, have a chat and to create some decorative or useful items.
There is a knit and natter group and occasional walks with refreshments afterwards.
2016 is Stakes WI 50th birthday and plans are afoot for a suitable celebration. So do come along and see if we have something of interest for you.
