Pilates

Pilates is a low impact, relaxing, mat-based exercise programme designed to help improve core strength, posture and balance. All of the exercises can be done at the individual’s own pace, incorporating breathing techniques to help control the movements. Pilates can help develop long, lean muscle and promote a healthy, strong, flexible spine. Other benefits of Pilates include improved posture, better muscle tone and co-ordination. The exercises help to relieve stress and tension and promote a feeling of well-being. Osteopaths, physiotherapists and general practitioners recommend Pilates as one of the safest forms of exercise today.
