FILM FRIDAYS

The Spring is pleased to announce and introduce Film Fridays, a new series of monthly film documentary screenings in the Langstone Room at The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre, East Street, Havant, PO9 1BS thanks to new screening equipment provided by the British Film Institute’s Neighbourhood Cinema Fund.

The Spring has tried to make the experience even better with some new chairs. A contribution towards the new seating was kindly made in memory of Josie Harper, who loved The Spring.

Each film screening will begin with a short introduction and there will be a chance to stay around afterwards for an informal post-screening discussion.

Individual Film Fridays cost: £6.50, £5.85 concessions (does not include refreshments).

Forthcoming Film Fridays:
Friday 4 March 7.45pm

GOING CLEAR: SCIENTOLOGY AND THE PRISON OF BELIEF
Directed by Oscar winner Alex Gibney, Going Clear profiles eight former members of the Church of Scientology and shines a light on how the church cultivates true believers, detailing their experiences and what they are willing to do in the name of religion. One of the most talked about films at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, this powerful documentary highlights the Church’s origins, from its roots in the mind of founder L. Ron Hubbard to its rise in popularity in Hollywood and beyond.
