Clanfield Gardening Club

We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Petersgate School, Green Lane at 7.30p.m.

You don't have to have a large Garden or be a good Gardener to attend, the talks are very interesting and it's somewhere you can meet like minded people. The Committee organize a varied programme and the Subscription is £3.00 the price of a coffee. Members pay £3.00 a meeting including tea/coffee and biscuits, Guests are always welcome. Once a year we hold an Annual Show in August which covers anything from the Garden, Craft, Cookery, Photographs and Afternoon Teas with a Raffle. Shields, Cups and Trophies are presented to winners and there are Children's categories. During the year we have Social Evening too and Competitions for Members. A Programme is given out for the Year when you become a Member and a Schedule for the Show can be found in the Local Shops, in plenty of time for you to enter.

Children's photography is 'Ducks'. All Children's categories are under 8 and 8- 11 on the show date.

Our next meeting is 14th February when John Negus's talk will be 'Into the Amazon, South American Wonders'.

On 14th March Dave Allport will give a talk - 'Life in a Blue Suit'.

On 11th April a talk by Sally Burr on 'Seasonal Containers for Summer' plus the Spring Show.

On 9th May a talk by Kevin Hobbs 'Chelsea the Greatest Flower Show on Earth'.

On 20th May at Clanfield Memorial Hall 2.00p.m. 'Plant Sale and Afternoon Teas'.

The Annual Show will take place on Sunday 20th August at 2.00 pm in Clanfield Memorial Hall.

Exhibits will be received on the 19th in the early evening or 20th early morning, details in the Schedule. Start growing your plants, flowers, shrubs, cacti and veggies.
