CALL TO ARTISTS IN HAYLING ISLAND, WATERLOOVILLE AND GREATER HAVANT

The 2017 May Days Arts Trail will take place on 13/14 May (on Hayling Island) and 20/21 May (in Havant, Waterlooville , and surrounding area). Artists and makers are invited to visit www.maydaysartstrail.org.uk read about what is involved, chat to others. Registration, on line, for this popular community event , now in its 12th year, is possible until 21st January.

Are you a painter, potter, sculptor, jewellery or glass maker, print maker, textile artist? The list is endless. Are you creative, and would you like to show your own work, share your enthusiasm, meet others with similar interests, and perhaps sell your work ? Regular participants and newcomers, in groups or singly are equally welcome, whatever their age. We have been fortunate in past years to have children’s vibrant art work on show. Picasso once said, ‘ Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.’

May seems a long way off, but spring will come soon enough, and with it, the annual fun and excitement of arts trails along the south coast. Even if you are undecided, please put the dates in your diary, visit your local artists, and chat about how their work is made. One of the aims of our arts trail is to encourage as many people as possible to take up a pastime which gives so much pleasure to both the maker and and the viewer. The trail is organised by volunteer artists, for artists, and for the community.
