‘The Sussex Air Ambulance’

After a very short AGM, a presentation and update on the Sussex Air Ambulance will be undertaken by a member of the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance team.

The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance is a registered charity dating back to 1989, and it does NOT receive any subsidy from the Government. It exists to relieve sick and injured people in the South east of England and the surrounding areas by providing a Helicopter Emergency Service (HEMS) and Air Ambulance service for the benefit of the community. Patients are taken quickly and directly by land or air to the most appropriate hospital best able to treat their injuries.

Air ACES is an aviation talk society, providing its members with regular talks, given by experts in many different fields related to the world of aviation. These talks cover subjects such as test flying, piloting iconic aircraft, RAF, aviation industry, air displays and many other related topics.

Monday 27th June - 1900 for 1930 hrs ‘The People’s Mosquito – returning a Mosquito to the UK skies’, presented by Alan Pickford who will give a very informative presentation on the return to the U.K.’s sky, of the unique aeroplane – the ‘People’s’ Mosquito. Alan will be telling the Air ACES members & guests about the restoration of the de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito by the charitable organisation – ‘The People’s Mosquito’ - which has a dream of getting a Mosquito aircraft back into the skies.

The de Havilland Mosquito was one of the finest all-round aircraft of WWII. By returning this important aircraft to the sky, this charity hope to honour and keep alive all of the memories of those who built, flew and worked on this amazing aircraft.

The DH.98 Mosquito was a British-designed multi-role combat aircraft that served during WW2 and the post war era. It saw service with the Royal Air Force and many other air forces around the world.
