WEA Havant Branch

The Spring History Course tutored by Jennifer Goldsmith for the Havant Branch of the WEA has now been agreed as: “The Long Industrial Revolution”

The Industrial Revolution is sometimes depicted as beginning in the 19th century, whereas it began well before that.  A complex process of industrialization, had unforeseen consequences for British people, changing lives both of those who migrated to the new expanding towns and those who remained in rural occupations.  Did it influence only those in the Midlands and the North, or were lives here in the south equally changed?  This course considers the impact of industrialization upon the lives of our recent ancestors.
The 10 week course will be held at the Emsworth Community Centre commencing on Thursday 8th January from 10am to Midday and finishing on 19th March with a break for half term on 19th February. The course will be available to book in late autumn on the WEA website at: https://www.wea.org.uk/  or telephone 0300 303 3464
