Virtual Spring Show

Purbrook Is Still Growing!

Well, another year without a phyiscal Spring Show but were we deterred? Of course not we are gardeners!

At Purbrook Horticultural Society, we decided to follow last year's initiative and conduct a fun only Virtual Spring Show but this year, having more time and technical prowess, the number and quality of entries increased. Another advantage to being Virtual was that members; family and friends not usually able to visit the Show in person could view it from the comfort of their own homes on the Purbrook Horticultural Society website

With , at long last, life gradually re booting our Trading Store [open Saturday mornings 0930-1130] situated on London Road adjacent to Purbrook East Allotments, has become a hub of activity with  members stocking up on their Garden essentials and taking the opportunity to actually go somewhere familiar and see people. While the Outings and Monthly Meetings are still under review awaiting clarity on Government advice  we do hope to at least resume meetings in July.

It has been a strange time and although members have felt some concern and frustration while being in lockdown, on the whole they have felt the true benefit of outside space no matter how small, with the opportunity and time to watch Nature continue uninterrupted and having friends in the Purbrook Horticultural Society to converse with by phone; email; social media; over the fence or while out on their walks.

Further details regarding the Society and updated information can all be found on the web site:
