Rowlands Castle Painting Society

Our 50th year since forming is an extremely important year for us. The cost of a year’s membership is £30 to cover everything in the new programme beginning on October 8th and including artists’ demonstrations, workshops, life/portrait drawing afternoons and summer painting/picnic days out.

Elizabeth Baldin is our first demonstrator on 8th October.

The photo is an ink and watercolour painting by Elizabeth and she hopes to do something similar to this for the demonstration. She said “I use a mix of acrylic inks and watercolour in an impressionist style which is very versatile. It utilises the all the fluidity of watercolour with the vibrant colours of the acrylic inks. I sometimes add ink line work in the final stages to emphasise certain areas as well.” http://www.elizabethbaldin.co.uk./

RCPS meet on Tuesdays throughout the year and we welcome new members of any ability to join us. Afternoon sessions are 2 pm till 4 pm and evening sessions 7.30 pm till 9.30 pm. Guests are invited to come along to any session for a fee of £3 or £5, depending on the event. Should you wish then to join our friendly group this amount is deducted from the annual membership fee. As well as our annual Christmas party we are planning a 50th celebration during the coming year. Other occcasions held annually by the Society include an awards evening and a weekend exhibition to showcase members work. Jan Roblin, society spokesperson said “A diverse new programme starts our 50th Anniversary year since the Society was founded by Mr Jennings Wood. We hope there is something to appeal to all our members or indeed anyone interested in drawing or painting.”

RCPS meets at The Parish Hall, Links Lane, Rowlands Castle, PO9 6AD. Further details can be found on the web site http://rowlandscastlepaintingsociety.co.uk
