From Pre School to the Pensioners, members of the whole family were able to enjoy their visit to the Purbrook Horticultural Society Annual Spring Show held at the Deverell Hall. The Hall was filled with beautiful Spring Blooms which along with their heady perfume provided a great backdrop to sit and chat over a slice of home made cake and a cuppa. Many were amazed at the number and quality of Daffodils on display, taking note of ones to perhaps purchase for next year. Following the welcome refreshments many purchased plants and hand crafted items then had a go at the Raffle. Having applauded the worthy winners of the Trophies , there was just enough time to purchase a few extra slices of delicious cake to take home. So, if you enjoyed your time at the Show or were not able to attend then open your diary to Sunday 17th August and make a note that the even bigger and better Summer Show will be staged at Crookhorn College, Stakes Hill Road Waterlooville or should you wish further details about the Society visit: www.purbrookhorticulturalsociety.org.uk or come along on a Saturday morning from 0930-1130 to the Store which is on London Road Purbrook adjacent to the allotments where you will be warmly welcomed!
