Emsworth Horticultural Society

Seventy-five members attended our March talk titled ‘Drought Tolerant Plants’ given by Steve Edney a highly respected gardener who restored the famous Salutation Garden in Kent. He commented, “with so many clubs in decline, it was wonderful to see so many people at the talk”.

We have many new members who are first time vegetable growers. They invited John Trim, to talk about "The Vegetable Garden" in April. when he explained the basics of vegetable gardening.  John is a member of the vegetable trials team at RHS Wisley and a senior judge with the National Vegetable Society.

May is a busy month for our members. Some will be on a Holiday to the Channel Islands, or a day trip to Leonardslee Horsham. We also have an open garden visit and our annual plant sale, so our next talk will be 6th June.

All our talks are held at the Emsworth Community Centre at 7.30pm and visitors are welcome. We charge £5.00 which includes tea and home-made cake served from 7.10pm.

Please visit our website for information and an application form if you think you would be interested in joining our vibrant society for £7.00 per annum. www.emsworthhorticuluralsociety.org.uk
