Emsworth Horticultural Society

EHS centenary year events ended on November 21st when over fifty people attended the Gardening Quiz organised by Colin and Karen Beale.  At the end two tables had equal points, and it took three tie break questions before the Ramblers table were declared winners.

The deciding question ‘what was the largest potato ever grown in the UK.’  It was 10 lb 15oz!

The next 100 years of the EHS starts on Thursday 16th January, with a talk by Andrew Elms from Lordington Lavender at Emsworth Community Centre at 7.30pm. Andrew sold his dairy herd in 2002 and diversified into establishing four acres of lavender, not only as a source of revenue but as a wildlife haven.

This promises to be a very interesting talk, if you would like to come along you would be most welcome.  Its free for members, non- members pay £2.00. You can join the EHS at the meeting for a subscription of £7.00 for 2020
