New Beginnings at Hayling Island Cricket Club

This is the first of many articles I Alex Johnson hope to write in the future as the new chairman of Hayling Island Cricket .
I firstly want to pass my thanks onto my predecessor Jim Lever for his many years of service both as Chairman and as a committee member. I am deeply honoured to have been elected the Chairman of this great Cricket club which has been part of Hayling Island for 124 years.

Alex JohnsonPart of my role is to grow the club and engage more with the local community. As someone who grew up on Hayling Island I have witnessed the benefits of how local sport and social clubs have on a person’s physical and mental well-being. We pride ourselves on being an amazing social club with comradery and fun at its core

Hayling is a family club and we wish to extend our family further. We are looking for new members who want to come and give cricket a try.

The club is now running weekly indoor training sessions every Thursday 7.00pm til 8.30pm at Warblington School, Southleigh Road, Havant, PO9 2RR. The sessions are run by the club’s Level 3 Qualified Cricket coach. If you have never played cricket before, that’s no problem at all. Our coach is there to help and guide you through but most importantly, the training sessions are FREE. That’s right, our indoor sessions are 100% free, so there is no risk in coming along and giving cricket a try.
Hayling Island Cricket Club is open to people of all ages, genders and social backgrounds.

For more details, please contact the club via our club email: haylingcricket@gmail.com or through our club social media accounts: @Haylingislandcricket
