The Club is proud to have had two winners at the recent Havant Borough Sports Association awards for 2022. Firstly Ben Hegan was voted Junior Sportsman of the Year in recognition of his selection for England at under 16 level & also his progression into the Club 1st XI who have just won the National Conference West. Secondly our Girls under sixteen team pictured were voted Junior Team of the Year in recognition of them winning the England Hockey Tier Two Plate final, the first girls national title in the Club’s history. Well done to both the players and thank you for the support given by parents, coaches & managers.
Every year the Club looks to support a charity and this year is no exception. Club member, Clare Jackson, has just completed a challenge, with her colleagues from Queen Alexandra Hospital, to hike across the Arctic circle in order to raise funds for The Genie’s Wish Foundation. The Club is also raising money to support this excellent cause which helps to grant magical wish experiences for individuals who suffer from critical or terminal illness from birth to 40 plus UK young carers age 5-16. There was a very proud moment on Sunday March 12th when a ceremony was held at the club, led by the President of Great Britain Hockey Sheila Morrow, to honour the nine players from the Club pictured left who have represented Great Britain. Replicas of the player caps will now be held in the clubhouse on permanent display.
