Fishy Stories

With Steve Rackett on his re-arranged Big Challenge Walk, numbers were down a bit with seven members attending Round 22 and the final round of the Havant Lakes Trophy. The sun smiled on everyone but the fish gods only smiled on two members on Sunday with West Lake at her most fickle. Still, all good things come to those who wait, and Dave, fishing in his 18th match/meeting this year pulled off his first win with just one fish, a lovely 8 lb 3 oz mirror which fell to a washed out white boilie and was a worthy winner. The only other member to catch was John Forster who float fished 2 maggots over ground bait and loose fed 2mm krill pellets which produced a steady stream of 9 small Rudd, a couple of eels and finally a bonus 2 lb 1 oz bream, to take second place. As always happens, someone gets a run after the match had ended, this time it was Jan H’s turn, but sadly she couldn’t get the fish to the net.

Thanks to Dave for collating who caught what and the weights. Not too tricky this time Dave!
