YES go to Westminster

YESYES (Young Explorers Squad): a Park Community School and  ‘Your Postcode’ initiative

After navigating the airport style security and chatting with the armed police who were keeping the area safe, we took our first steps into Westminster Hall where Queen Elizabeth II was laying in state before her funeral.

The Houses of Parliament were very grand with lots of beautiful paintings, sculptures, and wall hangings throughout. We saw the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the Monarch’s robing area, and the central lobby - places we normally see on our televisions.

YESAfter our visit we made our way back over Westminster Bridge where we could see the Covid memorial wall alongside the bank of the River Thames. The red hearts painted by members of the public to remember their loved ones stretched as far as the eye could see.

After finding lunch we made our way to the train for our journey back to Havant - lots of tired feet were rested!
