Work Out Your Money, a Citizens Advice Havant initiative set up in 2014 by Jon Stuart, CEO, has won a Highly Commended Award for its outstanding endeavours in raising awareness of the crime of illegal money lending presented by the England Illegal Money Lending Team.
Fiona Ross, who heads up the project in local schools was delighted to receive this award. ‘We act as ambassadors for the Stop Loan Sharks campaign and we have been explaining the importance of borrowing safely in our fun and interactive financial capability workshops throughout schools and community groups in Havant and surrounding areas for nearly five years.
Our programmes are tailored to the needs of our community and guided by the insight given by Citizens Advice. As a result, we are recognised as the go-to organisation for financial capability workshops.
