Windfall for Havant Talking News

Havant’s local talking newspaper  for blind and visually impaired people recently received a cheque from Waitrose, for £240 in their token scheme.

Havant Talking News is a small charity serving the Havant borough area. Any contribution helps with running costs and enables our listeners to receive fortnightly editions of local news on cassette or memory stick.

One of our listeners, Jean Smith, attended the presentation with her guide dog  Flora. By chance the Guide dogs for the Blind charity was also a  recipient in the same month. Jean said, “ I was a winner twice! Once for the Talking News and  once for the Guide Dogs”

Havant Talking News is always on the look out for volunteers, so if you might be interested in any aspect of putting an audio newspaper together, then please contact Havant Talking News. Call 023 92480101, or contact the charity on admin@hbtn.org.uk.  If you want to find put more, check out the website on www.hbtn.org.uk.
