The Right to Work CIC @ Staunton Country Park

CICThe Right to Work CIC based at Staunton Country Park, Havant, provides a genuine opportunity for all our Supported Volunteers to engage in real, meaningful work.

We believe that anyone who can work, wants to work but just needs a bit of support to do so should have the opportunity.

Our teams are now seen as an integral part of the overall Staunton team and take great pride in keeping the Park looking fabulous for visitors and the local community all year round.

The list of jobs that we complete around the park is endless including litter picking, cutting grass and maintaining flower beds.

CICMuch of our focus over the last eighteen months has been on helping to return Storey Garden, a three acre walled garden to it’s former glory. It has been an overflow car park for many years and we are in the process of turning it back into the productive vegetable garden it used to be. TRTW teams have dug out every single bed, built raised beds and started a comprehensive vegetable growing plan.

This garden is open to the public Monday – Friday from 10 -3.30.

The Right to Work have opened a new store within the garden - pictured right, called Plant and Produce selling hundreds of plants and fresh veg that they have grown. All proceeds are used in Storey Garden to enable the project to keep growing and provide even more opportunities for our Supported Volunteers.

The Supported Volunteers at TRTW take enormous pride in what they do and it is hard to put into words just how much this means to them. They also love to meet people and tell them about the work, so why not pop along to visit the garden, meet some of the guys and perhaps buy a plant or two for the garden.
