Nw Booklets on Local Mills

Havant Town Mill

Corn had been grown and milled into flour in the Havant area for hundreds of years. The Domesday Book recorded that Havant had two mills and over time there must have been many more.

The Havant Town Mill was still in operation until the early 1900s. A new booklet; A History of the Mills at Havant, Langstone and Brockhampton researched by Jennifer Bishop is the subject of the latest History of the Borough of Havant booklet which is on sale at the Havant museum in East Street. There is also a booklet on the mills of Bedhampton, Hayling Island and Emsworth. Copies can also be obtained from Ralph Cousins on 023 9248 4024 or ralph.cousins@btinternet.com These and all other booklets can be read on line for free at:
