As March brings longer days and the true arrival of spring, RSPCA Sussex West Branch and Mount Noddy Animal Centre are encouraging the community to turn their seasonal clear-outs into real change for local animals in need. With many of us embracing spring cleaning and fresh starts, now is the perfect time to support our four charity shops in Bognor Regis, Chichester, Littlehampton and Horsham.
These shops play a vital role in funding the day-to-day care of the dogs and cats who arrive at Mount Noddy — often frightened, underweight, or in need of urgent medical attention. While the animal centre focuses on rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming, it is our charity shops that help make this life-changing work possible.
Every pre-loved jumper, book, picture frame or vintage find sold helps cover essential costs such as food, warm bedding, enrichment toys, behavioural support and veterinary treatment. Without the steady income from our shops, we simply could not provide the level of care each animal deserves.
March is one of the busiest times for donations, as wardrobes are refreshed and homes are reorganised. Good-quality clothing, homeware, books, toys, accessories and small furniture are always welcome. Even items that cannot be sold may still help raise funds through recycling schemes.
Donating is about more than tidying up — it directly supports the hundreds of animals that pass through Mount Noddy each year. A single bag of donations can mean meals for a nervous dog, medicine for an elderly cat, or enrichment for an animal learning to trust again.
If donating isn’t possible, visiting one of our shops is just as valuable. Every purchase supports animals in need.
This March, as you embrace new beginnings, please consider giving your unwanted items a second life — and our animals a second chance. Your generosity keeps our shelves full and our tails wagging.
