Local Care Company raises over £1,500 for the Alzheimer’s Society

For the second year running Right at Home has managed to raise over £1,500 for the Alzheimer’s Society. It’s a year since the Care Company, based in Havant, successfully completed a 34 mile walk where they raised £1,500 for the dementia charity.

This year, due to the coronavirus and social distancing restrictions, Duncan  Cameron - pictured above - Right at Home Havant’s Director, took on a new challenge to run 100 miles over a 30 day period.

When asked about the achievement he said, “The last few months have been a very challenging time for everyone with the coronavirus pandemic hitting our communities but especially those living with dementia. Our care team are very aware of the pressures caused by isolation for those living with dementia, so it felt right to try to raise funds again for such a worthy charity like the Alzheimer’s Society.” He added, “Last year we raised £1,500 by walking 34 miles from Havant to Haslemere, but this time we decided that running 100 miles seemed like a good alternative. Its been hard going but well worth it. I have been absolutely amazed, and touched, by the terrific support I’ve received and managed to raise an incredible £1,535 which is slightly higher than the year before – thank you to everyone!”
