With new houses and apartments springing up in all postcodes, the price of goods are increasing with the aftermath of the pandemic restrictions, people are again turning to  the "Grow Your Own" ethos so now is a good time to dispel some myths-

Grow your ownMembership of Purbrook Horticultural Society is not only for Allotment Holders despite the Trading Store [open Saturdays 0930-1130] being located adjacent to the Allotments on London Road Purbrook and you do not even need to have a garden!

Not exclusive to Horticultural experts as many of the members join to meet new people in a safe and friendly environment.

We are not an exclusive Society but open for all ages and abilities not just residents of Purbrook, as members from other societies as we may have different assets not available elsewhere.

So, why not give membership a try as at just £6 per annum per household [yes per household not individual] the benefits include -

Monthly meetings with speakers on a variety of topics held at Deverell Hall, London Road Purbrook on first Thursday of the month 7pm for 7.30 start. Free Tea/Coffee and Biscuits during the interval.

Outings by Coach to Stately Homes and Gardens at very reasonable prices. Trading Store where all your gardening needs can be purchased at discounted prices and even take advantage of  purchasing plants donated by members lucky to have a surplus.

Quarterly Gazette [free] giving news, hints and tips or interesting articles written by members.

Annual Spring and Summer Shows with the next Summer Show organised for Sunday 21st August at Crookhorn College, Stakes Hill Road Waterlooville.

Affiliated Horticultural Societies with Horticultural Specialist magazines free to borrow and even access to specialist advice
