For a second year a joint government funding award to Park Community School and Romsey Community School will allow them to expand their last year’s exiting ‘Connect4Summer’ programme providing for children, their families or carers, and additional support for our most vulnerable families in need, at fifty-eight venues across Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and the Isle of Wight including a range of sports activities, healthy cooking classes.
Headteacher of Park Community School, Christopher Anders, said: “We are very excited and delighted to be involved in this large project for a second year. We will be able to support more families with holiday child care and family fun days.”
Community Manager Susan Parish at Park Community School reported that the legacy created by the Connect4Summer programme in 2019 will continue and be expanded.
Susan said “We believe that this programme will meet a need for all families by addressing social isolation, providing good quality food and a whole range of activities for the family in safe environments, going some way to making the summer holidays something to enjoy”.
