Citizens Advice

Thanks to our wonderful volunteer team

Citizens Advice Havant logoCitizens Advice Havant has continued giving advice to those in need throughout the coronavirus pandemic thanks to the tireless dedication of its staff and volunteers. Often this meant a shift to providing support via phone and web chat.

As part of Volunteers’ Week, which runs from 1 to 7 June, Citizens Advice Havant wishes to thank our team of volunteers for their exceptional contribution to the service and to the local community. We have 38 volunteers at Citizens Advice Havant who contribute around 200 hours each week.

In the last year, Citizens Advice Havant has helped 5,900 people with over 10,000 issues, such as benefits, debt, housing and employment issues.

Ken Sim at Citizens Advice Havant has volunteered for the past five years. Ken said:

“The past year has really proved the need for services such as Citizens Advice. At the end of a 30 year career in business, I felt I could use my skills to help people with their problems. The old adage, a problem shared is a problem halved comes to mind.”

Jon Stuart, CEO, said: “Our wonderful team of volunteers dedicate their time and skills to ensure that people in Havant and the surrounding area get support in their time of need.
