THE CAT & RABBIT RESCUE CENTRE

Hulky the catHello from your favourite out and about reporter at the Cat and Rabbit Rescue Centre, Hulky Bear.

The centre is still currently full, with many cats also waiting for spaces to come available, we would love to help everyone who has sadly found themselves in the position of needing to rehome their cat but unfortunately there is a bit of a wait. Due to the continued work on the barn we have been using our Diamond Quarters area to house the new arrival cats, however Diamond Quarters does not have as many pens as our barn did. My staff have told me that the only way we can help more animals is to be able to rehome more, so please if you know anyone looking to adopt please send them our way.

One cat that we have been able to help recently is a beautiful fluffy tabby male called Forrest. Forrest was brought to us after he had been living as a stray. The lovely members of the public who found him had noticed that he had an injury to his back leg and wanted to get him some help. Once he arrived our vet was able to check him over but he soon realised his back leg was shattered and the best option for him was to have it amputated. Our vet successfully carried out the operation and Forrest has now adapted really well to having three legs. He recovered so well that after only having the leg removed three weeks ago he is already available for adoption and hoping to find his forever home soon, due to being a stray he is a bit nervous but my staff are sure he will soon settle in his new home with a bit of patience.

Love, Hulky

PET OF THE MONTH

Gherkin the rabbitGherkin
We are delighted to introduce you to a very handsome rabbit called Gherkin. Gherkin is a three year old male rabbit who has been here at The Centre since April as sadly is previous owners were allergic to him. Gherkin is a really sweet boy, occasionally he can be a little bit overprotective of his space but once he lets his guard down he loves nothing more than a nose rub. Gherkin would love to find a female rabbit he can bond with and a forever home of his own. Gherkin would be best suited to a home with older or no children.  If you think you may be able to offer Gherkin a home please call on 01243 967111 or visit our website: www.crrc.co.uk
