The Urban Vocal Group

Young singers from The Urban Vocal Group (UVG) took to the stage in December to perform their fifth annual concert at The Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth. Sixty-six young singers performed unique arrangements of contemporary songs including ‘Uptown Funk’, ‘Story of my life’ and ‘Fix You’ to a sell-out audience. They were joined on by rising star Jerry Williams who performed her latest single ‘Boy Oh Boy’. UVG Director Charlie Fletcher said “This is the biggest concert we have ever staged and the commitment and enthusiasm of everyone was remarkable.” Alaina, 15 said "Never would I have had the opportunity to do anything as brilliant as that with all these people”

The UVG are a registered charity who have been running for eight years offering free vocal tuition, song writing, recording and performance opportunities to young people aged 11 – 18, regardless of experience or ability.
