Roz Savage helps Nore Barn Woods Project

Ocean-rower Roz Savage MBE has agreed to help spearhead the campaign to get the shore protection work completed along the southern boundary of Nore Barn Woods near Emsworth. The Friends of Nore Barn Woods will be running a Grand Cream Tea on Sunday June 22 on the shore of the woods to highlight the problems there and to raise funds for the project. Among other work Roz is a board member of the Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation Organisation.

Roz will be meeting members of the Friends of Nore Barn Woods in May to talk about the project to complete the shore protection work there. The Friends of Nore Barn say they hope the event will mark the culmination of fundraising for the shore protection so that the work can be carried out before next Winter. Donors so far include: Chichester Harbour Conservancy, The Coates Charitable Trust, The Co-op Community Fund, The Friends of Chichester Harbour, Southern Water, The Solent Protection Society, Emsworth Residents Association, Hampshire County Council, Emsworth Horticultural Society, Brook Meadow Conservation Group and more than £7,000 has come in as individual donations great and small from the public.
