Fibromyalgia Fundraising Bake-Off

Members of the local Fibromyalgia support group and their families and friends enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon recently when they held a “Cake Bake -off” to raise funds to help find a cure for fibromyalgia, a chronic condition that causes various symptoms including widespread muscularskeletal pain and stiffness throughout the body.

The judges had a difficult task, tasting lots of delicious home-made cakes but a winner and two runners up were finally chosen and then the cakes were enjoyed by everyone. A raffle was also held and the Fibromyalgia Fundraising Bake-Off total raised in the afternoon was over £200. The organisers, Gill and Karen worked very hard to ensure the afternoon went well and were “really overwhelmed” with the generosity of everyone who went along.

The local Fibromyalgia Support group welcomes new members to their friendly lunch-time monthly meetings at The Red Lion pub in Horndean. Current members come from across the area, including Clanfield, Petersfield, Portsmouth, Stubbington, and Southbourne.
