Christingle Service

In December Hayling College hosted their annual Christingle Service for which the Year 2's and 3's of the Island's primary schools congregated in the sports hall and lit candles.

Prior to the service, pupil representatives of The Hayling College visited the Primary schools to give a brief description of the Christingle’s and explained the meaning behind the service itself, then handed out small candle shaped money banks in which the children collected money for a children's charity, raising money for children less fortunate than themselves.

When the celebration commenced, the pupils and teachers lined the walls of the sports hall holding lit Christingle’s. It was a heart-warming experience that emphasised the unity of the Island's schools.
