A Traditional Christmas in Emsworth 2013

Well known for its independent shops and highly regarded restaurants, Christmas events in Emsworth this year will once again highlight what a unique place it is. The Emsworth Business Association has been working with many elements of the town to put together a program of real community events that will make a visit to Emsworth an absolute must over the festive period.

The fun started on 29th November in St. Peters Square with community carol singing & music led by Rev. Simon Sayers and a mixed choir from the area’s schools. The Christmas lights were switched on by the Mayor of Havant – Cllr Paul Buckley - before the arrival of Father Christmas travelling on to his Grotto in The Emsworth Centre in South Street. The Grotto* will be open from 6.30pm and children of all ages are welcome. There will also be a range of market stalls in South Street Car Park, many shops from North Street down to the Quay will be open and Emsworth Fire Brigade are welcoming children to the station so they can climb onto the fire engine – what better way to start the Christmas period?
