ABSEIL FOR THE ROWANS HOSPICE

Places are filling up fast for the annual abseil in aid of The Rowans Hospice on 12th and 13th July at Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower. One of the first daredevils to sign up is Doris Long MBE who will be 101 years old and aiming to break her own Guinness World Record.

Rowans Hospice AbseilingPlaces are limited to a maximum of 40 abseilers per day. The 100m descent down one of the country’s most iconic structures with views over the Solent is not to be missed, so anyone interested is encouraged to sign up soon. Registration costs £50 per person with a suggested sponsorship target of £200.

Sophie Gunner, Events Fundraiser at The Rowans Hospice, said: “Doris started abseiling at the age of 85 which proves you are never too old to take on a challenge and even if you have never tried anything like this, you can do it! This fulfils the Hospice ethos of adding life to days.”
