The V Team are a force to be reckoned with

The team recently built some raised beds at Lyndhurst House in Leigh Park to enable residents with limited mobility to tend their own miniature gardens. They returned to weed and tidy the general garden areas and rockery. Carole Oliver, Manager at Lyndhurst House said “the V Team are great. The residents really appreciate the raised beds and the rockery is lovely, we’re looking forward to planting all the new plants we’ve bought”.

The V Team are a team of supported volunteers aiming to improve their lives and those of others through volunteering. They meet regularly on Fridays in Havant, and work on projects that benefit community organisations, or local charities. Projects have included garden makeovers and painting at sheltered housing and community centres, befriending events at Age Concern day centres and conservation work. Ina Allum, Supported Volunteer Co-ordinator at Community First HEH said “it’s great to be able to make a difference in the community.

Volunteering is a great way to improve confidence, make friends and build your skills as well as benefit others in your community”.
