Off The Record get a makeover!

Off The Record, a service providing counselling, support and information for young people based in Leigh Park, received a makeover. Employees from Pfizer, based in New Lane Havant, spent a day painting the front of their building on Purbrook Way, Leigh Park. Local resident Bob Pratt and Pfizer employee says “It’s great to be able to help out Off The Record which works with young people locally. I had a great day working alongside other members of staff who I wouldn’t normally see on a day to day basis”.

The day was organised by Community First HEH’s Volunteer Service as part of The Employee Volunteering Scheme. Janet Duggan, Volunteer Co-ordinator says “It has been fantastic to see the community coming together to decorate the front of Off The Record. By everyone working together means the Young People’s charity can continue to get on with the important task of supporting young people in need”.

Off The Record has two prominent patrons, Sally Taylor MBE, BBC South Today presenter and Katy Sexton MBE, Gold Medal Olympic Swimmer, who have supported the volunteering day. Tina Randall, Co-Manager, says “to receive this kind of community support from a local business is very important to us because funding is restricted when it comes to spending money on maintenance and upkeep of our premises. I would like to say a big thank you to Community First for organising this decorating day, Brewers for donating the paint and Beaver Tool Hire for contributing towards the trestles and most importantly the employees from Pfizer”
