Local Businesses lend their support to the Emsworth Arts Trail

EBAThis year’s Emsworth Arts Trail is set to be bigger than ever. Over 150 local artists will showcase their work at fifty-five venues during the last weekend in April and first in May, in an event that will increase visitors and revenue to the village.

“Now in its 14th year, the trail continues to grow in stature and importance to the village”, explains Carol Price, chairman of The Emsworth Arts Trail. “What’s unique about our Trail is that it’s a walking trail; this enables visitors to really appreciate our picturesque coastal location and enjoy strolling around the village to discover all that Emsworth has to offer.”

“The Arts Trail is also great for local business,” Giles Babb, chairman of the Emsworth Business Association (EBA) acknowledges. “Last year traders reported a marked increase in visitors to their shops, cafés and bars. Events such as the Emsworth Arts Trail certainly helps to increase footfall in the village and boosts Emsworth’s profile as a great place to visit.”

As landlord of The Bluebell Inn, Giles has chosen to adopt an artist to promote the event. He will feature a selection of Carol Price’s artwork in his pub prior to the Trail.

Adopt an Artist
Over 45 businesses in Emsworth have also signed up to showcase an artist in the weeks leading up to the Trail. Artists and makers are mounting a small exhibition of their work either in a shop window or within business premises.

Emsworth Arts Trail“The support from local businesses has been amazing this year,” enthuses Carol. “We would like to thank them all for really getting behind the Trail.”

Emsworth Arts Trail runs on the two weekends of 25th – 26th April and 2nd, 3rd, 4th May 2015.
