Leaving Photographs

In memory of the many individuals that were involved in the First World War, artist Ian Banfield is creating work based on photographs that many young men and women had taken prior to making their departure.

In memory of the many individuals that were involved in the First World War, artist Ian Banfield is creating work based on photographs that many young men and women had taken prior to making their departure.

The project will run for the next four years and will culminate with an exhibition to commemorate the centenary of the signing of the armistice. The work seeks to remember all of those involved and welcomes applications from all ranks, sexes and countries.

The works that Ian creates are individual portraits, as seen in the Havant’s Heroes exhibition, and if you have a photograph of your relative and would like them to be included in the project, you can email ian.banfield@havant.ac.uk
