hairspray

The Portsmouth Players are bringing a taste of the West End to the King’s Theatre, Southsea in February with a production of Hairspray, starring West End star and Portsmouth native, Jack Edwards.

Hairspray is the story of teenager Tracy, whose dream is to dance on The Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance programme. She manages this and becomes an overnight sensation, meeting a variety of colourful characters on the way.

As well as being a fun and energetic show, it’s also a powerful commentary on the social injustices faced by minorities in 1960s America as well as society’s attitude to the overweight.

And Postcode Publications has a family ticket for two adults and two children for opening night on the 24th February 2015, courtesy of the Portsmouth Players To enter just answer this simple question. Who played Tracy’s agoraphobic mother in the 2007 Hollywood film? Email your answer to r.hardcastle@postcodepublications.com closing date 16th January 2015. All correct entries will be placed in a hat, and a lucky winner will be drawn after this date, and the winner informed by email soon after. The winner will also be announced in the February edition of this paper.

Good Luck!!!
