CELEBRATING A BUMPER YEAR AT KINGSCOURT

Kingscourt School Celebrating

Year 6 pupils at Kingscourt School, Catherington have been celebrating amazing results in their recent senior school examinations. A superb 18 scholarships have been awarded to the 11 year old pupils who are in their final year at the school.

Scholarships from all of the leading independent senior schools in our area including The Portsmouth Grammar School, Churcher’s College, Portsmouth High School and St John’s College were given for academic, sporting and musical ability. Several pupils had a double celebration as they received scholarships or awards from more than one school.

Head teacher at Kingscourt, Mrs Jacky Easton said, “Every year we are always delighted to celebrate with those pupils who do particularly well in the senior schools’ admission procedures. Each pupil has worked extremely hard and it has to be said, this is something of a bumper year for scholarships.

“Our close knit team of staff, coupled with small class sizes and individually tailored learning plans play a part in this very pleasing success as well as the invaluable support and input from parents at home.

“We do however make sure that all of our children are happy first and foremost in their learning. As one parent recently said to me,’ Kingscourt is a prep school and not a pressure cooker’, which we were pleased to hear as that is one of our main priorities.”
