Chauffeur driven to the Kings Theatre, treated to a pre performance party, given the best seats in the house with ice creams at the interval and finally, escorted on to the stage for a specially arranged audience with the stars of the Aladdin pantomime were all highlights of the Havant Young Carers Group VIP trip laid on by members of the Rotary Club of Havant.
For the group of 12 hard working Young Carers, aged 12 to 15, the evening gave an exciting start to their Christmas with lots of loud shouts and laughter throughout the top class show. Meeting and being photographed with their favourite stars from TV and Pop, including Antony Costa from boy band Blue (Aladdin), Hollyoaks star Marcus Patrick (Ginie) and Jade Ellis from the X Factor (Ginie ) was a real bonus.
Vicky Sawyer the Group’s Supervisor in thanking The Kings Theatre and Rotary says “ This is a real big boast for the youngsters which helps them deal with the extra pressures they come under. With increasing demands on finance and resources we are more and more dependent on the support of local organisations and clubs to keep the support for our young carers going. Thanks also to the Hayling Businessmen’s Club for the loan of their mini bus for the evening.
