…tips and exercises from our Award Winning Physio

Physio Natalie MarchMy name is Natalie March from Physio-logical, a chartered physiotherapist in PO9. I am really excited about attending the finalist’s award ceremony for the Natwest Venus Women’s award next month to see who wins the employer of the year category.

We now have a sports massage therapist working at our clinic within Active4less, New Lane, Havant – please visit http://www.physio-logical.net/our-team/ for more information about Kate.

We have been treating a lot of runners, cyclists and weight lifters recently, a common complaint is Iliotibial band (ITB) syndrome. ITB syndrome is one of the leading causes of lateral (outside) knee pain in runners. It occurs when the iliotibial band, the fascia (tissue) that runs down the outside of the thigh from the hip to the top of the shin, becomes tight or inflamed.

The best treatment for ITB syndrome is massage combined with certain stretches and exercises some of which are listed below. Please be aware of your body and take advice from your GP before exercising or send an email to (enquiries@physio-logical.net) for advice and guidance.
