Ever saw a stunning celebrity haircut, tried it yourself, but it didn’t quite look the same? It’s all down to your face shape. I’ve put together a quick face-shape-guide to help you choose and tailor the right hair cut to you.
Round Face
Contrasting edgy haircuts work well with a round face. If you like to sport a medium-length cut, layers are the perfect cut to frame your face.
Longer cuts look fantastic with round faces by lengthening your face shape. Dress any longer hair cut with a soft curl or wave to balance a rounder face shape.
If you’re a bit braver, asymmetrical styles are your friend. An angled bob or a long fringe creates a specific edge that gently contrasts.
Square Face
A soft chin-length bob is the best frame for a square face. It not only works with the face’s angles but it draws attention to your eyes.
To contrast against a strong angular face, I’d recommend sporting long curls and waves.
Make sure to avoid extremely short haircuts. This can often be a recipe for disaster as it draws particular attention to the lower half of your face, making it look overall larger.
Oval Face
Layers are your friends! Oval faces are longer and can be offset also with a blunt straight fringe, curls and waves for an incredible overall look. These will be sure to bring out your eyes.
Keep your hair at a medium length to balance the length of an oval face, or opt for a shoulder-length bob to draw attention to your jawline. If you’re looking for a shorter haircut, try out an angled haircut with longer pieces of hair.
Heart Shape
Long to medium length hair is ideal for balancing out a heart shaped face.
To accentuate your cheekbones finish off your look with a side fringe, layers or even a short pixie cut to bring out beautiful large eyes.
