The summer months can be tough on our feet. Dry, cracked heels can be painful and unsightly but are easy to fix! There’s nothing quite like a professional pedicure once a month but there are also ways to keep your feet looking good at home.
Step 1 – Keep toenails short and clean. Use a nailbrush to clean beneath the free edge then trim the nail using nail scissors or clippers. Smooth the cut edge using a soft file and avoid shaping to a curve.
Tip: Leave nails as ‘square’ as possible. Ingrown toenails can be a result of poor cutting technique.
Step 2 – Use a foot rasp or pumice to slough off areas of built up dry skin. Use a dry rasp on dry feet (before bath/shower).
Step 3 – After soaking the feet (bathing is perfect!), dry them and use a tissue to ease back the softened cuticles and remove excess skin.
Step 4 – Massage a layer of moisturiser and massage into feet until absorbed, including the cuticles and nails.
Treat your toes to a coat of glossy polish to finish off a perfect pedicure and make sure you’re ready to step out and bare them this summer.
*Top Tip: Gel polishes have zero drying time and stay looking perfect for longer.
