Havant Rotary - Christmas and so much more

Havant Rotarians rode into Emsworth on their fabulous sleigh with Santa on board to delight those gathered for the annual turning on of the Christmas lights ceremony.

Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Havant looked forward to Christmas with as much excitement as children and the highlight of the year is being in the community with their magnificent sleigh – a sparkling marvel to behold.

The Sleigh provides a very public opportunity for the Rotary Club to thank the community for their past support and to look forward to future engagement as they continue their good works with local charities, schools and individuals throughout in 2019.

Have a look at the Havant Rotary website to see some of the many and varied projects they support. For instance, together with Rotarians worldwide they have been supporting the End Polio Now campaign. Any funds raised for this charity are doubled by the Bill Gates Foundation.

This year the Rotary Club’s youth committee have been working much closer to home running the annual Young Chef and Youth Speaks competitions and supporting Young Carers. They have also sent youngsters on Leadership Courses and together with this newspaper have launched a Young Photographer competition. The more senior members of our community are also supported in many ways including ‘Days Out’.

Havant Rotary is always on the lookout for new members with a bit of spare time to help their community and to enjoy the fellowship of like-minded individuals. If you are interested in joining them do check their website:
